AAPAE: australasian association of progressive and alternative education
This is the website for the australasian association of progressive and alternative education. The aaape serves as an advocacy group for the cause of alternative and progressive education in Australasia. The aims of the group are: To exchange experiences with other alternative/progressive schools To share practices, perspectives and stories. To discuss current theoretical perspectives within alternative/progressive education To explore current socio-political issues relating to education. To further an organized network of like minded schools within Australasia.

A. S. Neill's Summerhill School
Summerhill School is a progressive, co-educational, residential school, founded by A. S. Neill in 1921; in his own words, it is a 'free school' though this does not mean, alas, that it is state funded. The freedom Neill was referring to was the personal freedom of the children in his charge. Summerhill is first and foremost a place where children can discover who they are and where their interests lie in the safety of a self-governing, democratic community.

Students Againts Testing
Students Against Testing was created to be a strong force against the score-obsessed education machine known as standardized testing. At the same time, SAT also exists as an advocate for bringing positive, creative and real-life learning activities into the schools.
