Democratization Processes in Schools
The democratization process is a conceptual organizational change that leads the school toward incorporating and upholding a democratic culture. As part of the democratization process a dialogue takes place among the members of the schools community on democratic values. This dialogue leads to changes in the organizational and pedagogical structures.

During its years of operation the Institute for Democratic Education has guided processes of democratization in nearly 150 schools, mainly in the periphery.
